Our team successfully managed the transportation of 183 packages of oversized press machinery from the Port of Savannah to Kentucky, demonstrating our ability to execute complex project cargo movements under challenging conditions.
The project faced unexpected obstacles when a bridge collapse in Baltimore redirected significant volumes of breakbulk cargo to Savannah, creating increased congestion and competition for port resources. At the same time, operational changes at the port reduced available loading days from five per week to just two, significantly limiting appointment availability.
Recognizing the potential impact on project timelines, Juno's Project Cargo team acted quickly. Through proactive coordination with port authorities and strategic planning, we secured loading appointments in advance and developed a transportation schedule that kept the project moving despite the operational constraints.
Throughout the move, our team maintained close communication with all stakeholders, providing real-time shipment visibility and regular project updates. This hands-on approach allowed us to adapt quickly to changing conditions while ensuring the safe and timely movement of critical manufacturing equipment.
