PROJECT SHOWCASE

Port of Baltimore, MD – Lafayette, IN

Project Start Date | June 15

Project End date | July 10

Our Project Cargo team prefers to conduct meetings in person to gather all necessary details as it allows us to have a more engaging discussion about the project's specifics. This project involved transporting heavy over-dimensional pieces for a loyal client of Juno’s.

Juno has a good longstanding relationship with the Baltimore terminal, a port that many RORO carriers call. At the time the port was very congested and was over 120% capacity. Our team met with port contacts several weeks prior to the cargo’s port arrival to discuss the load plan and cargo staging location. Our team was onsite to assess and monitor the loading process, ensuring GPS tracking devices were secured to every truckload at the port. Juno communicated with our client, and the riggers, daily to inform the status of the loaded trucks.

Specialized equipment like flatbeds, step decks, double drops, and multi-axle (RGN) trailers was required; the largest piece was 780x415x375cm (307x163x148in) and weighed approximately 85,200kgs (188,000lbs) which required a 19-axle trailer with permits and police escorts. Loading and unloading required heavy forklifts and cranes, so we ensured the availability of suitable equipment at both the port and the job site. Additionally, some pieces required protection from the elements, so we tarped the loads or arranged Conestoga trailers as needed based on client preferences.

We are dedicated to offering top-notch and dependable services to our valued clients, guaranteeing their projects receive the highest level of care and attention.
