About Making Strides

American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a nationwide movement that unites communities to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, patient support programs, and advocacy efforts. Through non-competitive walks held in cities across the country, participants come together to honor survivors, remember loved ones, and support those currently facing the disease.

More than just a walk, the initiative fosters a strong sense of community—bringing together survivors, patients, caregivers, families, and supporters in a shared mission to make a lasting impact. Funds raised help provide critical services such as transportation to treatment, lodging for patients and families, and 24/7 support resources, while also advancing research toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

Honoring Hope and Bravery Against Breast Cancer

In early October, our team joins hundreds of participants in this powerful event—not only to support the cause, but to honor the memory of our colleague, Dema, whose strength and spirit continue to inspire us. We contributed across the event, from assisting at the merchandise station to uplifting participants in the spirit zone and supporting families at the caregiver tent. Each moment deepened our connection to the mission and to Dema’s legacy. We’re grateful to be part of such a meaningful movement and remain committed to standing alongside everyone impacted by breast cancer.

“Volunteering at charity events fills my heart. Seeing the smiles of appreciation on people's faces reminds me that spreading positive vibes is one of the most rewarding gifts.”
