Updated tariff rates for several countries are expected to be announced at the end of this deadline. July 9 was also the target date for the U.S. and the EU to reach an agreement to remove a 50% tariff on all EU imports.

July 14: On April 9, the EU announced plans to impose retaliatory tariffs in response to U.S. tariffs on EU steel and aluminum. However, the EU paused these counter-tariffs for 90 days after the U.S. paused its reciprocal tariffs. This 90-day pause is set to end on July 14.

August 1: If trade agreements are not reached, the higher U.S. tariffs on trading partners are scheduled to take effect on August 1.
