Commerce Expands Tariffs to Cover More Steel and Aluminum Products
On August 19th, 2025, the Department of Commerce has added 407 more product categories to the list of steel and aluminum items subject to tariffs. These products will now face a 50% duty rate.
The new list includes items such as wind turbines and parts, mobile cranes, bulldozers, railcars, furniture, compressors, pumps, and many other goods.
This update is part of the ongoing process to expand tariff coverage on steel and aluminum products. Businesses and the public can request product exclusions during three annual submission windows, with the next one opening in September.
A full list of the newly added product categories is available in the annex of the Federal Register notice.
Further information on how Commerce ruled on each product category can be found here.
